Millie Brown x Altra Profuture | Photosymphony

Millie Brown presented an interactive performance in celebration of her NOWNESS launched film during Frieze with INTERREALITY. The performance was a continuation of the artists interaction with testing the limits of her body. For this performance she turned to fire setting her hands a blaze in a feat that functioned between reality and the meditative space that seem to bend reality. Fire as a whole technique referenced her previous was work and the vigorous extreme body works which has come to define the artist.

In this performance Millie confronts the embodiment of the current state of humanity as seen in a global context. Using one of the most extreme methods to date in her practice. This protest by fire was silent yet powerful in its means to search for poetry among chaos as the depiction of fire to fall. The fire as a means of transformation, change and rebirth, ashes to fertility.

The resulting ashes lead to rebirth and greenery with Photosymphony. An experimental dinner series hosted by Millie Brown and her sister Beckielou Brown, the founder of natural genderless parfum brand Altra Profuture at Ardor where guests served a vegan meal amongst a multi-sensory  experience including a scent created just for the night. The ambient sounds lightly dusting the scene was the result of the vegetation being hooked up to special sensors which translated their frequencies into a soundscape. Wendy Bevan performed an original accompaniment responding to the photosymphony.
