Saint Laurent Rive Droite Los Angeles is serving transience with a side of existential glam. The Rodeo Drive hotspot becomes the ultimate portal into poetic minimalism with Mono no aware, an exhibition by New York-based artist (and quiet sorceress of materials) Miya Ando.

Curated by Anthony Vaccarello himself—Mono no aware presents a slow, sexy whisper about time, nature, and duality. Crafted for the set wondering the impermanence of everything from moonlight to cherry blossoms, honey. Miya’s work explores that magical unity between Eastern serenity and Western structure, and she’s not afraid to wield fire, silver nitrate, or ancient Japanese wood-burning techniques to make a point.

The show highlights steel, redwood, and washi paper—each one more chic and loaded with meaning than the last. She carbonizes redwood using shou-sugi-ban (the traditional technique where fire meets wood in the most couture way possible), and silver nitrate becomes her time-freezes moments and supports in catching the sparkle of a moonbeam or the hush of falling clouds.

Mono no aware—the title, a soft sigh in Japanese, translates loosely as “the beauty of the fleeting moment.” The thought presents visions of cherry blossoms at their peak, your ex’s best apology, or the final glint of a sunset on a rooftop in Shibuya. It’s that heartbreaking fabulousness of something beautiful passing.

Saint Laurent Rive Droite, the house’s ultra-chic concept space at 469 Rodeo Drive is a perfect extension of the Paris original, and a curated wonderland of culture, fashion, vintage, art, and vibes. It’s Saint Laurent, but make it interdisciplinary. It’s luxury, but with a wink. And it’s Vaccarello’s playground, so expect everything to be just the right amount of moody, provocative, and collectible.
