How did you start modeling?
I started modeling at around 11 years old. My sister would always take pictures of me with her camera and a friend of hers saw the pictures she would post and asked me to do a photo shoot. It was my first photo shoot ever and I instantly fell in love with it! After that day, I told my mom I wanted to pursue modeling, and then we took some headshots and sent them to an agency.
What would be the most amazing brand you would like to work for?
I could never pick just one brand that I would want to work for but I do have a couple that have always been goals of mine. Dior, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Mugler are my dream brands! Being in a fashion college, I am blessed enough to learn about all of these designers and how they started. It has changed the way I look at fashion so much.
How did you get approved for the TV show?
The TV show that I was recently on recognized me and my mom from a previous show we did together 5 years ago in New York. They saw our bond and how funny we are together and interviewed us a couple of times on zoom before giving us the confirmation that we got approved!
Whats been the most exciting event/experience this year?
The most exciting experience for me this year has been getting to watch my TV show, Raising a F***ing Star! I have been so anxious and excited to just see all of the episodes and finally seeing it made me so happy. It was so much fun looking back at all the memories I made with my family on TV.
Do you want to be a singer too? And if so will you go more in that direction?
Yes, I do want to be a singer. My first single ‘Someday’ hit over a million streams on Spotify! I was so honored to have worked with Latroit, a Grammy award-winning producer, for my first song. I would love to make more songs in the future. I am actually working on a song currently that I have been working so hard on and can’t wait to release that soon!
What next for you?
The next thing for me is finishing midterms and my new song. During that, I am always on the go to do more photoshoots, self-tapes, and auditions.
What’s your background ? Where did you grow up?
My background is Spanish, Filipino, and Hungarian. I was born in the Philippines and moved to the US when I was 3 years old. I remember vivid places in the Philippines and want to go back there very soon.
What advice do you have for girls your age who what to be in a tv show or modeling ?
My advice for those who want to model or be on Tv is to always have good people around you. I have learned over the years that having people that love and respect you is the most important thing because surrounding yourself with people you don’t trust can affect you and your mental health in the future. Having someone there for you during good times and bad times is beneficial. Whats your fav moment on the show? My favorite moment on Raising a F***ing was New York Fashion Week. It was so much fun meeting new people and having that Fashion Week experience. It was my first runway show ever and I was so nervous! I worked and practiced so hard that I put so much pressure on myself to be perfect. The moment I stepped foot on the runway and saw all the lights and cameras, I fell in love with modeling even more.Is your mum a big influence in your life ?
– My mom is the biggest influence in my life. She has been through so much and yet she loves her family unconditionally. She is the glue to our family. We have learned so much from her experiences and the advice she gives. I am so thankful that she is who she is and I wouldn’t be who I am today without her. Photographed by Ben Cope.
