Alexandre Mattiussi presented his first international post pandemic AMI show in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square, linking the parallel worlds of Paris and Seoul. Casting included Hyun Ju Shin Tae Min, Sungjin, and Xumeen, utilizing a mix of models, nodels and fresh faces from Korea. The show differed from their Paris presentation with additional items specially incorporated for the South Korean market. The looks gave off 60’s cool with a thoughtfully flirtatious color pallet and a playful silhouette for ease with a take on graphic proportions and constructions.
Speaking on the collection Mattiussi mentions, “Seoul and South Korea are very much a part of our extended f.AMI.ly. I will never forget the warmth with which our Korean friends and customers have welcomed us when we first started, how quickly they have embraced AMI, its Parisian spirit and codes. Seoul is a city where a very special dichotomy reigns, a place where ancient traditions and modernism cohabit, with an amazing energy and an outstanding sense of style. This show is a way to thank our Korean friends for their fidelity, and at the same time it is an honor to be able to present our collections outside our Paris hometown to such an avant-garde and passionate audience.”
