Interdisciplinary musician and DJ Alix Brown steps into the spotlight with her debut solo release, Tormento, a haunting, disco-infused anthem exploring the depths of longing, desire, and temptation. Set against the evocative backdrop of a neon-lit rendezvous, the track blends the lyrical wit of Serge Gainsbourg with the infectious grooves of Daft Punk.
Tormento is a collaborative effort with composer Louis Fontaine and writer Margo Fortuny, recorded across Los Angeles, Paris, and Madrid. Drawing inspiration from the cinematic landscapes of François de Roubaix and classic French and Italian chansons, the song offers a nostalgic yet modern soundscape. Vintage synthesizers, pulsing bass lines, and rhythmic percussion underscore Alix’s ethereal vocals, capturing the allure of forbidden attraction.
